Bulk renaming folders

Hello,

We have an extensive folder structure that follows the following naming convention [ID] - [Company Name

We would like to bulk rename all of these folders deleting the [ID] part leaving only the Entity Name.

Is such a thing possible?

 

We cannot simply delete the folders as we already have files and sub-folders inside.

  • Alex Muscina, as you are posting in the Developer Community where we mainly deal with the API side of Collaborate, then yes, using API's it is possible to "bulk" rename folders. Depending on how one obtains the list of folders to rename will dictate how complex this endeavour will be. For example, if you already know, or can collate the folder ID's to rename, then this process is reasonably simple. However, if the need is to "walk" the entire folder structure looking for folders to rename, then this is much more complex as you are dealing with recursion, chained promises, and API rate limitations for large folder structures.
