Question: is there a way to filter a view by current year?

27260

Hello,

I have this iSheet with one datetime column, and in the reporting I have some dashboards that show the data by period (for example, by month). But I want the dashboard to just show the data from the current year, and not show in february the data from this february and february from the past years.

I know I could filter it in the view saying that the date is later than 1st january 2022, but then I would have to update it each year. Is there a way to somehow indicate that the date corresponds to the current year? so that the dashboard shows the correct data automatically?

Thank you very much!!

  • I have faced the same challenges with visualizations. I often have multiple charts on a page that should be limited to the current year. The only way to get that to work is to manually update the year filter for each one, individually. solving this dynamically and for all the charts would be amazing.

  • We've built our own replacement for core KPI cards now which has to deal with the concept of this/last week/month/year to achieve this - not the best solution as it's development overhead but seems to be the only way to achieve these without having someone go round 2000 sites each week/month/year and update the views heh.

  • Ryan McDonough how have you done so? What do you mean with "our own replacement"? Could you explain it so I can do the same? Thank you!!

  • Maria Sarra So writing our own JS that'd find specific tags we'd created e.g

Then the JS would take those data attributes, query the XML feeds of the iSheets and then do the filtering based on the date column, filter type and period and then inserting appropriate HTML/CSS into the tag.

It's about as low code as we can achieve, but it's not a full replacement that you'd be able to give to everyone for using on their sites.
