Re-ordering isheet items

Does anyone have a method that would allow the user to order/re-order records in an isheet so that when the content is pulled via XML and rendered that it's in that order?

Currently using the platform to allow people to record issues for a project, they'd like to change the order in which they appear - but other than providing a textbox where they could put a number (but no way to make them provide a unique number) for every single record I can't see a simple way. 

 

Tried: Export record template, move records around and reupload - doesn't work.

  • This feels like a monstrous suggestion but you could make a choice field called "Order" or something and then make them set that, then you get "unique" in a sense. Could you possibly use the task module because you can drag them and set order? I feel your pain.

  • Yeah we thought about that, a few of the problems we thought of though (as we've done this in another section) is there's no way to enforce unqiueness - so we then need to alert the user that they have duplicates and therefore we can't do the ordering - as well as the problem is that if you want to shift everything up or down one then every record needs updating.
