Going through Tableau's documentation for embedded analytics one authentication method that can be used is trusted authentication. Whilst there are couple of steps in enabling the authentication the part I am unsure about is step 2 below.
Web server POSTS to Tableau Server: The web server sends a POST request to the trusted Tableau Server (for example, https://tabaserver/trusted , not https://tabserver ). That POST request must have a username parameter. The username value must be the username for a licensed Tableau Server user. If Tableau Server is hosting multiple sites and the view is on a site other than the Default site, then the POST request must also include a target_site parameter.
Taken from: https://help.tableau.com/current/server/en-us/trusted_auth.htm
Is HighQ able to send such a post request or would there need to be some custom development to bridge the two servers (a bridge between HighQ and Tableau server)?
Appreciate any guidance on this approach. I understand HighQ is developing it's own visualisation tools however these are currently unavailable through Publisher pages.
Cheers,
Ollie
